Hanging Perch Woodcrafting Pattern

Display our large 3D tropical birds on this oversized version of a real perch. It's easy to make from wood dowel, steel rod, a 3/8" stake clamp and our full-size pattern. Hang using small link chain.

Dimensions: 14" H x 11" W

Wood:
one 11" x 11" piece of 1/2" or 3/4" thick plywood
one 14" x 14" piece of 1/4" piece thick plywood
one 11" long dowel (1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" dia.)

Tools:
scroll saw, or band saw with a smooth cutting non-chipping blade
pliers
electric drill with 5/32"and 3/16" dia. drill bits

Hardware: required for assembly
steel rod-one 3/16" dia. x 36" long
screws-two #8 x 1" long, flat head
yard stake clamp-one 3/16" I.D.
steel hang chain-small link, length ass needed

Supplies:
transfer paper, pencil & clear tape
sand paper-medium & fine grits
fine steel wool

Sealer:
high grade, non-yellowing, semi-gloss UV protected project sealer for outdoor protection
